VIRTUAL SPRING SHOW - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I can't see my entry - has something gone wrong?

Probably not, if you received a "thank you" message.   We are checking each entry before they are finally uploaded onto the website to ensure that they are in the correct class and, most importantly, not offensive.  This may take up to 24 hours depending on how busy the moderator is!

If you still can't see them after 24 hours then possibly something has gone wrong, so try again.  If its still not showing within 24 hours, send and email to membership@csgga.org and we'll upload them.

My photo won't upload

If you give a title to your entry that's the same as another entrant the system won't upload it, so either use the file name for your photo, if there is one, or your name,  and add "1" or "2" if you're submitting two entries to the same class  ie Freda Smith 1 and Freda Smith 2!

Some photo files are just too big ie use too many MBs, you might have to compress the file size and save it again before trying to upload it again.

Are there any rules on the background for the photographs?

There are no rules! Choose whatever you think shows your entry to its best advantage - a plain background that shows the colour and details of the plant or arrangement  works well.

How should I display my entry?

Follow the class requirements - they are shown in the description box.  So, if the class is for a daffodils with own foliage, then pick the daffodil, put it in a vase with its leaves but no need to photograph the vase!   If the class is for a pot plant show the pot as the size of pot will have been specified.  For flowering shrubs and trees, pick flowering stems or blooms and display in a vase or container with their foliage.  Any other queries send an email to membership@csgga.org

How many entries can I submit?

Each person can enter up to 2 entries per class.

Why are only some of classes from the Spring Show included?

We’ve included most of the classes from our traditional Spring Show but have omitted Classes 3 and 5 where 3 stems of daffodils and tulips, respectively, are required. This is just to cut down on judging which is slightly more difficult from photos!
